At Tapt, our philosophy is simple: It's great to share your contact details, but it's even better to receive others' contact details. This way, you take the initiative to reach out, rather than waiting endlessly for them to do so.
How it Works:
After you tapt your card on someones phone and your profile appears, there are two options:
Add your contact into someone's phone.
Have the person share their details back with you.
We recommend asking them to share their contact details with you first. However, if you click "Add to Contacts," the two-way exchange form will automatically appear, prompting the individual to reciprocate by sharing their contact details with you.
What Happens when someone shares their contact details with you:
The contact that is shared back with you will be sent to three places:
You'll receive an email with their contact details.
The contact will appear on your dashboard.
The contact will be accessible in the Tapt app.
Best Practices:
We recommend saving the contact via the Tapt app. This way, when you receive the contact, you can also add notes about the person to give your outreach a clear purpose.
Unable to Save Contacts from Outlook Email?
In some cases, Outlook emails may block the VCF file from being downloaded and added to your contacts. This restriction is often imposed by your employer's IT team. To overcome this, we recommend downloading the Tapt app and saving the contact via the app.
