Admin, group manager and cardholder roles explained

Compare Tapt account roles and choose the right level of access for each person in your organisation.

Written by Elon Datt

Tapt separates organisation-wide administration, group management and individual profile access. Assign the least amount of access a person needs to complete their work.

Compare the roles

Role

Access

Typical actions

Admin

Organisation-wide Tapt Dashboard access

Manage profiles and account settings, invite other admins and group managers, and oversee products and assignments.

Group manager

Tapt Dashboard access limited to assigned groups

Manage profiles and settings within assigned groups and update the group template.

Cardholder

Their profile through the Tapt App

View and share their profile, and edit it when the organisation allows profile editing.

A cardholder does not automatically receive administrator access to the Tapt Dashboard. One person can be both a cardholder and an administrator when they use a profile and also manage the account.

Admin access

Admins have access across the organisation. They can edit profiles, manage account settings and invite other admins or group managers.

Use admin access for people who need to manage the whole Tapt account. Avoid assigning it only so someone can update their own profile.

Group manager access

Group managers work within the groups assigned to them. They can manage relevant profiles and update a group’s profile design.

Only admins can create groups, add or remove profiles from groups, and invite admins or group managers. Use the group-manager role when a person manages a department, office or brand but does not need organisation-wide access.

Cardholder access

Cardholders use the Tapt App to access and share their profile. They can edit their profile in the app only when an admin has turned on employee editing access.

If editing access is off, the cardholder must ask an admin or group manager with access to that profile to make the change.
