Add, change or remove an administrator

Invite an administrator, change a user’s role or arrange access removal when your team responsibilities change.

Written by Elon Datt

Admins can manage organisation-wide profiles, products and settings in the Tapt Dashboard. You need existing admin access to invite another admin or change a user’s role.

Add an administrator

  1. Go to Settings > Organisation.

  2. Select Invite User.

  3. Enter the person’s email address and choose the admin role.

  4. Select Send Email Invitation.

The invited person receives an email with instructions to create their account and sign in.

Important: The same email address cannot be associated with 2 different Tapt organisations.

Change an administrator’s role

  1. Go to Settings > Organisation.

  2. Find the user whose access you want to change.

  3. Open the role dropdown beside the user.

  4. Choose the required role and confirm the change when prompted.

Assign Group Manager when the person should manage only selected groups rather than the whole organisation.

Remove administrator access

Open the user’s role controls in Settings > Organisation and use the available removal option. If you cannot remove the user, or no current admin can sign in, contact Tapt Support before access is needed again.

When you contact support, include:

  • your organisation name;

  • the email address of the user whose access should change;

  • the email address that should retain or receive admin access; and

  • whether the previous admin has left the organisation or can no longer sign in.

Tapt Support may need to verify the request before changing account access.

Troubleshooting

If an invitation fails because the email address already has a Tapt account, confirm whether that account belongs to another organisation. Contact Tapt Support if the person needs to move between organisations.

If the invited person cannot find the email, ask them to check their spam or junk folder and confirm that the address was entered correctly.
