Your Tapt Card is a powerful networking tool, but what happens when a cardholder leaves your team?

You have two options: you can repurpose the card for a new user or permanently remove the profile and render the card unusable. Here’s what you need to know.

Clearing vs. Deleting: What’s the Difference?

  • Clearing a Profile archives the old profile, and generates a new profile linked to the existing card. This allows you to reuse your physical Tapt Card for a new team member. The card remains functional, and you can update it's digital identity.

  • Deleting a Profile permanently removes it from your organisation’s Dashboard, breaking the link between the card and the profile. This action is irreversible, and the card will no longer be usable.

If you want to recycle a card for a new employee, we recommend using the Clear function. However, if you no longer have access to the card (e.g., the employee took it when they left), we suggest deleting the profile.

Deleting a profile also helps your company stay compliant and ensures that former employees are no longer representing the company.
