A Tapt QR code should open its linked profile or destination in a phone's browser. First determine whether the issue affects one copy of the QR code, one phone or the underlying destination.
Symptoms
The camera does not recognise the QR code.
A blank page opens after scanning.
The profile opens but shows old information.
The link returns a `404` or page-not-found message.
A printed QR code behaves differently from the QR code in the Tapt App.
Check the scan
Clean the phone's camera lens and move to an evenly lit area.
Hold the full QR code inside the camera frame without covering its edges.
Move the phone slightly closer or further away until a link appears.
Open the link in the phone's browser.
Repeat the test on another phone.
If only one phone fails to recognise the code, update or restart its camera app and use another supported QR scanner in the meantime.
Compare another sharing method
For a profile QR code:
Open the Tapt App.
Open Share.
Display the profile QR code.
Scan it with another phone.
You can also open the profile from its shared link or by tapping its connected Tapt product.
If another sharing method opens the current profile, replace the faulty digital or printed copy of the QR code.
If every method opens outdated information, update the linked profile rather than the QR artwork.
If every method returns an error, the linked profile or destination needs attention.
Export a fresh profile QR code
Use this method when a downloaded QR file is blank, damaged or no longer matches the intended profile.
Open Profiles.
Select the 3-dot menu beside the profile.
Select Export QR Code.
Choose SVG, PNG or JPG.
Select Download.
Scan the downloaded file before adding it to new material.
Important: Do not replace QR artwork in an approved card design without following the order and proof process. A QR code printed on an existing physical product cannot be physically replaced.
Confirm the fix
Scan the exact QR code that people will use. Confirm that the intended, current profile or destination opens on at least two phones.
Contact Tapt Support
Contact Tapt Support if a QR code printed on a Tapt product returns a `404`, or if all sharing methods fail. Include:
a clear photo or copy of the QR code;
the linked profile or product holder;
the full error message or screenshot;
whether NFC or the profile link works; and
the phone and browser used for the test.
